Redesign of the Living Room
The biggest transformation in our home was undoubtedly the redesign of the living room. With the help of my dad, we knocked down the walls between the living room, dining room, and kitchen, creating an open concept space that immediately made the house feel more spacious and connected. We painted all the trim white for a fresh, modern look and applied a German schmear technique to the fireplace, giving it a charming, aged appearance that added character to the room. The most impactful change was replacing the outdated carpet with beautiful hardwood floors, instantly elevating the entire feel of the room and tying everything together in a timeless and elegant manner.
